Instead of concerning himself with traditional western troubles, Autry is found trying to straighten things out at the racetrack. He wants to help a crippled jockey so he can ride Autry's horse in the big race. The bad guy isn't a man, but a wild stallion that takes off with the speedy
mare. Autry goes in search of the horses and, with a little help from technology, finds the steeds by flying over the fields. In one of the more unbelievable moments of any film, he lassoes the mare from the airplane. He gets the horse back, the jockey gets over his crippling injury, and Autry
plunks his guitar a little more.
