TOP OF THE TOWN is a musical that just sits there without offering anything of value. The razor-thin plot has Manhattan heiress Nolan planning a ballet in the Moonbeam Room, a ballroom 100 stories off the ground. The audience is dreadfully bored, however, until Murphy saves the day by kicking up a storm with the sound of swing.
