Fairbanks plays a hero who doesn't want to be one. The story was based on a novel that wasn't even in the bookstores before the film was out. Fairbanks is a young submarine officer whose sub sinks. To save the men, he sends them out on the torpedo tubes, sacrificing himself in the process, but Navy divers get to him just in time.
