A passable western, this offers no surprises in its HIGH NOON-like plot. Hayden, the West's top gunman, returns to his hometown to warn its citizens of a raid by Dehner and his gang. The townsfolk want nothing to do with the loner, however, and end up imprisoning him on false charges.
His girl friend, Booth, comes to his aid and gets him released in time to put up a battle against Dehner. Things look bad for Hayden, until Booth herself picks up a gun and saves her loved one's life and the town's fortune. It may be cliched, but at least the cliches are well executed. Character
actor Millican, here a kindly sheriff, died before the film's release.
