A wartime romance pairs Leslie and Hutton as young lovers who marry as teenagers before Hutton goes off to battle. After a three year stint knocking Japanese planes out of the sky, Hutton gets word that his wife has left him and given away the son he didn't even know he had. He arranges for a trip home and with the help of a kindly judge is reconciled with Leslie and the little one. Emotion overshadows intelligence in this one. Director De Cordova's debut in the position (he had done dialog directing and had worked on stage plays) paved the way to a long career as a TV talk show director. This was actress Malone's first film for Warner Bros. leave a comment
