The last of 12 films in the "Michael Shayne" series has Beaumont playing the private investigator for the fifth time (Lloyd Nolan filled the role in the first seven films of the series). This time out, Beaumont decides he needs a vacation and heads off to do some duck hunting. Of course,
he can't get away from his work as he soon uncovers a counterfeiting scheme. Beaumont was a busy actor in the 40s and 50s, appearing in nearly 60 films, but he would achieve his greatest popularity on television in the 60s as the father to Beaver Cleaver on "Leave It To Beaver."
