A fast-paced musical comedy full of peppy performances and musical numbers. Ball is an heiress who takes a shot at campus life accompanied by a quartet of bodyguards, all of whom are topnotch football players. Though they've been instructed to stay out of the huddle, the four decide to show their talents on the field and bring the sad-looking team to victory. Ann Miller dances up a storm, and Arnaz, getting a big push as the new Cuban conga sensation, delivers a tune called "Spic and Spanish." Ball must have liked Arnaz's drumming as much as the audience did, for they married shortly after the film was completed. Other musical numbers include: "Heroes in the Fall," "Pottawatomie," " 'Cause We All Got Cake," "Love Never Went to College," "Look Out," "I Didn't Know What Time It Was," "The Conga," and "You're Nearer" (Richard Rodgers, Lorenz Hart). leave a comment
