Our Time: Review

Set in the 1950s, OUR TIME tells the saccharine tale of a pair of young girls--Martin and Slade--and their first experiences with the opposite sex. Slade becomes pregnant and gets an abortion by a young medical student that results in her death. Essentially a made-for-TV film (DEATH OF HER INNOCENCE was its TV title), the picture is totally void of any signs of life--the characters lack heart, the script doesn`t move, and the music is petrified. Directed by ex-news anchor Peter Hyams, who went on to tackle 2010, the sequel to 2001, A SPACE ODYSSEY. Martin and Stevenson both went on to teeny-bopper status with their roles in TV's NANCY DREW and THE HARDY BOYS, respectively. leave a comment
