Time Of Indifference

Steiger plays an opportunist trying to take advantage of a wealthy aristocrat, Goddard, who is too lost within her decaying world to notice Steiger's wooing of her daughter Cardinale. Adapted from the novel by Alberto Moravia, this film is an attempt to show a dying society unable to grasp the changing world. Even though director Maselli has an excellent cast, he doesn't have the ability to effectively bring these themes to the screen; this is more up the alley of Luchino Visconti.
