Surprisingly well-done WW I spy thriller that came at the end of a cycle for these popular melodramas. Marshall plays an English actor and Michael a German actress who meet and fall in love in 1914. When the war tears their countries, and them, apart, they both wind up as spies for their
homelands. Of course, they run into each other as enemies, but those old feelings return, and with the help of sympathetic master-spy Atwill, they flee to Holland and are married.
