1957, Movie, NR, 72 mins

Acosta stars in this hackneyed crime drama based on the real-life story of a Mexican newspaperman who waged a one-man press war against a powerful crime syndicate led by Newlan. After Acosta digs up the names of influential politicians involved in Newlan's illegal activities, the mob boss has Acosta assassinated. This foolish move incenses the local population, and Acosta's son, Blake, picks up the crusade. Now, aided by the people, Blake ensures that justice triumphs by cleaning out the rogues. Narrator Coates is the real-life newspaperman who dug up the dirt against the criminals, and he would probably have been the first to say that the cleanup accomplished very little in the long run. leave a comment
