Melancholy Japanese drama starring Iwashita as a lonely young woman who lives with her aging father, Mori. One day Iwashita meets her former lover, Nakayama, whom she still loves although he is now married. Nakayama, though suffering from a debilitating illness, tells Iwashita that he still loves her and wishes to resume their relationship. Ishizaka, Nakayama's brother, further complicates matters by expressing his desire for Iwashita also. Her decision seems to be made for her when Iwashita's father dies and Nakayama (depressed over his ilness) commits suicide, leaving Ishizaka for her to love.
