Thrill Ride: The Science Of Fun

Not exactly a stinker, but this IMAX spectacle is nothing to write home about either. While the film states its intentions to "chart the history of the roller coaster" right up front, most of its 40-minute running time is devoted to cursory glances at a dizzying number of potentially-fascinating subjects. A crusty 49er type hosts some silly, documentary-as-thrill-ride footage, while a conventional narrator tells us everything we ever wanted to know about flight, film making, flight simulators, motion simulators and virtual reality rides.
