A wildly funny domestic comedy which is often credited as being the first to portray a screwball family. Boland is mom Rimplegar, who loses the family fortune on worthless mining stock during the Great Depression. Cooped up in a Brooklyn home which they can't sell, the Rimplegars--Colbert, the bright daughter; Ford, the law student; Bakewell, the aspiring actor--endlessly get on each other's nerves. Colbert, slated to marry struggling writer Albright, instead weds doctor Arlen and gets the family out of its predicament. Full of laughs. leave a comment
