A trio of gripping murder stories, each of which is fast-moving and admirably scripted. The first, "In the Picture," takes an art museum guide to a spooky old house which appears in one of the paintings, greeting him with a deranged taxidermist. "You Killed Elizabeth" is a straightforward
crime whodunit about a pair of school chums both in love with the same girl. When she turns up dead, it's apparent that one of them is guilty. The best episode, "Lord Mountdrago," stars Orson Welles as the title character and is based on a story by W. Somerset Maugham. Welles destroys the career
of a fellow Parliament member and is haunted by thoughts of retaliation.
