A fine, thoughtful western stars Murray as an ambitious cowboy who borrows money from dance hall floozy Remick to buy a ranch and make a new life. Unfortunately he abandons all his seedier friends and enters into a loveless marriage with banker Dekker's niece Owens in order to better his position in the community.
