Barrymore plays the head of a large family who becomes mixed up in some underhanded financial dealings. His wife, Bainter, is a budding writer who has just sold a story to a motion picture company, so he covers his guilty feelings with a pretense of happiness. His eldest daughter's fiance is an auditor for Barrymore's company who discovers the errors in the books and knows Barrymore's in for some big trouble. The fiance is abandoned by the daughter, who decides she must stick with her father after the fiance becomes embarrassed over Barrymore's misdeeds.
