The Thirty-Nine Steps: Review

The third version of this mystery story differs from the Hitchcock original and the 1959 remake in that it is more faithful to John Buchan's novel. Powell and Dotrice give adequate performances as the couple running across the Scottish Highlands to find the meaning of the "39 steps." The picture has great energy, which makes it fun entertainment, and if you don't expect too much you won't be disappointed. leave a comment
