This was one of director Walsh's few overseas ventures, but the results of the trip were not particularly successful. Cat burglar Fairbanks grows extremely attached to one of his victims, Hobson, who just happens to be the fiancee of Hale, Fairbanks' onetime back-stabbing partner. Hale is now a successful and apparently honest businessman, but deep down he is still a two-bit crook.
