Chiari leaves his native Italy to become a journalist for his brother's small Sidney paper. However, when he arrives in Australia, he discovers that no paper exists, and his brother has walked out with the initial investments. As a man of honor, Chiari vows to pay back the money to Dunne, the lass who is the victim of his brother's unscrupulous behavior.
