A sporadically intriguing spy drama, this features Morell as a murderer, scheduled to hang, who offers to identify the leaders of a spy ring in return for a commuted sentence. Detective Morgan gets on the case and unravels the conspiracy by himself, then visits the useless Morell one last time before he goes to the gallows. This is slightly more interesting than the normal run of British spy films, thanks to an unusually intelligent script. leave a comment
