Columbia's copy of MGM's highly successful "Thin Man" series casts Douglas and Blondell as a comic detective couple. Business has been lousy, so Douglas has taken back his old job as an investigator with the district attorney's office. Blondell is sitting in the empty office when Astor enters, plunks three hundred dollars on the desk, and asks that Douglas take her case.
