A conventional courtroom drama with flashbacks, illustrating the trauma faced by Harding when her sweetheart, Abel, comes close to being convicted (on damning circumstantial evidence) of a murder she herself committed. The deed was done in righteous anger over embezzler Dumbrille's plan to
elope with innocent Sage, daughter of the accused man. When suspicion shifts to Sage on the witness stand, Harding cries out her courtroom confession that she herself did Dumbrille in. The unhappy Harding, once a major star for the studio, was pushed into this film following conflicts over her
contract. She left the studio after this financial and artistic failure.
