Halliday, a clairvoyant gifted also with hypnotic powers, runs a gambling den. He inadvertently hypnotizes his daughter's (Allen) young suitor, Brown, while threatening to kill a rascally politician. Mesmerized, Brown actually does the dirty deed. Retired attorney Standing, learning that other lawyers have refused to take Brown's case because of their disbelief in his hypnotic motivation, undertakes the young man's defense. Audiences similarly inclined to suspend disbelief will enjoy this well-paced, well-acted courtroom thriller. leave a comment
