The Whipped: Review

Journalist Duryea buys into a small New England paper after being tossed off a big city daily for his unethical tactics. Right off the bat he finds himself immersed in a case involving the murder of the wife of a wealthy heir. Though all the evidence points to Anderson, the woman's maid, who even admits to the crime under pressure, Duryea goes with his hunch that she is innocent and eventually gathers enough evidence to grab the true culprit. As the black maid accused of murder, Anderson gives a sincerely emotional and moving performance that far outshines the other members of the cast. leave a comment
