The Well-Groomed Bride

This uneventful comedy, despite its fine cast, fails to produce anything out of the ordinary. Milland is an Army lieutenant who must locate some champagne in San Francisco to christen a French vessel. For some reason, de Havilland is the only one who has any, and she's saving it for her wedding to Tufts, a conceited former football player. Milland tries everything to get the champagne but to no avail. He finds himself growing fond of de Havilland and romance bubbles. In the process, Milland finally gets the champagne.
