A teen sex comedy without any sex is the angle of this low-low-budget Canadian entry. In typical fashion, Mike (Joseph R. Straface) is a nerdy high school kid whose heart skips a beat when he lays eyes on Diane (Stacy Christensen). At a local drinking hole, class bully Randy (Lee Barringer) bets Mike $2,000 that the nerdy kid can't get Diane up to Paradise Bungalows--the lover's lane for the St. Francis crowd. Directed, written, and edited by Francesco Lucente, the film suffers from wretched sound recording and postdubbing, poor photography and lighting, a nonstop music track (undoubtedly used to cover up the sound problems), and some amateurish acting. Despite the technical faults and its exploitative title, VIRGIN QUEEN does display a positive morality for teenagers. leave a comment
