After a church in a western town is destroyed by an Indian raid, wide-eyed Rooney, fresh out of the seminary, comes to rebuild it. He raises the church once more and gains a following among the townspeople. Despite some opposition from a gambling-hall owner (O'Brian) and a bad man, Rooney
triumphs in the end. The antagonists come to see the light the new preacher offers and all is resolved. Despite the often hackneyed story line, Rooney gives a surprisingly good performance, projecting an innocent quality that works well. Other than that, this isn't much of a film, as the
