Absent-minded psychology professor Milland writes a book that claims women like to be handled brusquely. This gets a write-up in a local paper and Milland threatens to sue for libel when he's misquoted. The paper sends out reporter Wright, who wrote the damaging piece, to get some dirt on
Milland and thus save them from embarrassment. She saves them, but not as originally expected. Instead, in good B-movie fashion, a romance blooms between Wright and Milland. Lively performances help the weak story and routine direction.
