The Treasure Of Pancho Villa: Review

During the Mexican Revolution in 1910, Calhoun and Roland stand off a detachment of Federales in an isolated mountain area of Mexico. In flashback, the events leading to their plight are recounted. Soldier-of-fortune Calhoun joins Roland and Winters, both supporters of the revolution, in an attempt to transport a gold shipment stolen by Calhoun for the forces of Pancho Villa. The customary conflict occurs between the acquisitive Calhoun and his idealistic companions as they battle both brigands and troops in their transit. Flashing forward, the matter is resolved after the death of the valiant Roland when Calhoun's dynamite brings down a mountain, burying both troops and treasure. An excessively wordy, banal script is redeemed in part by excellent action sequences. leave a comment
