A blackmailing truck driver is the focus of this okay film. Barry is the not-too-bright driver who romances Parker. Parker lives with her father (Cleveland) who constantly sounds off on how he, not the town mayor, captured a handful of Germans during WW I. Parker meets a German who is now an American citizen and learns that the old man's story is true. She gets Barry to bring this up to the mayor and blackmail him into giving Barry a new truck and other goodies, or Barry will tell the real story. Parker also tells the opposition party, and, faced with scandal, the mayor kills himself. Barry gets in trouble then, and all the money-grabbing politicians are tossed in the slammer. leave a comment
