Lyons plays a severely disturbed 23-year-old "teenager" who possesses a strange power (much of it sexual) over a bunch of teens in a small California town. While he is hanging out with his young followers, he kills one of his dates, an action which forces him to commit two more murders to cover his trail. However, justice prevails in the end in this film which attempts to delve into the psychology of youth but winds up as a long list of cliches. The only question it raises is why actors like Grahame, Bel Geddes, and Asner would ever appear in trash like this. It was originally to have been produced and directed by Abby Mann, who also contributed the original, uncredited screenplay, but a disagreement with the studio resulted in his departure from the project, which turned out to be the last film produced by National General. leave a comment
