This western drama without a big gun scene does have acts of individual brutality. Romero and his Indian brothers attack a wagon train, and Hawkins is the only survivor. Romero can't bring himself to complete the massacre and kill the young woman. He takes this as a signal from the Great Spirit in the sky and decides to become her bodyguard. While escorting her, he's attacked by three whites, but because she has fallen in in love with him, Hawkins saves his life. However, she does go back to her own kind, only to have them turn on her and brutally rape her. She returns to Romero who swears to avenge this evil act. After finding the men, he uses savage methods to kill them. Burying one man up to his neck, he then coats the guy's head with honey to attract ants. The next unfortunate is strapped to a couple of saplings which tear him in two. A third man is slowly tortured and then killed with a rattlesnake. leave a comment
