A costume drama from the 1500s features Granger as a mercenary soldier in the Italian town that is under ruthless Spanish nobleman Garrone's thumb. Though paid to work for the bad guys, Granger soon switches alliances and helps the underground movement plotting to overthrow Garrone. The
head of the movement is Koscina, daughter of the former ruler and the woman whom Garrone has chosen as his bride. After the maximum amount of sword fights, Granger and company liberate their town during the annual horse race. Believability is streched when Granger goes through the heroism bits,
but otherwise he handles his role in an appropriately suave fashion.
