The Survivor

THE SURVIVOR is one of a series of interesting pictures that actor-director David Hemmings made in Australia, including THIRST and HARLEQUIN. Sort of a supernatural disaster film, it stars Robert Powell as the pilot of a 747 that crashes after a midair explosion, leaving him the only survivor. As it turns out, Powell is actually dead too, but, haunted by the spirits of the passengers, he has risen to punish the person who planted the bomb on his plane. With a good cast, solid direction, and a decent score from Brian May (ROAD WARRIOR), this is a surprisingly effective film that evokes a truly eerie mood.
