Teenager Marshall has a mother who tries to control her life. When the girl meets the older Lasswell, he proposes marriage and promises to take her away from her miserable home life. He even gives her parents $200 for their consent to the marriage. After a good start, she learns Lasswell is involved in prostitution. He tricks her into helping him, and she is arrested. When she is released from prison, she is unable to find a job. She returns to Lasswell, who makes her into a prostitute. When she finds him with another girl, she leaves.
