The Strawberry Roan

Autry bought the rights for this story, his first venture into the world of color, from old western star Ken Maynard. Instead of Autry being the star, the story focuses on his horse Champion and Holt's intention of killing the horse. Holt vows to get the horse because the first time the horse was ever ridden, it injured Holt's son. Autry takes the horse and runs. He is charged with rustling and now there is a reward for his capture. But Autry is cleared when the crippled boy learns to ride again with the help of the singing cowboy and, of course, the horse.
