Not enough action and too much talking; this one has Elliott playing a young Crockett offspring who helps out President Grant right after the Civil War. His job is to get Texas' vote to join the Union, but MacDonald and his evil crew want to stay with the confederacy. Crockett arrives,
fools the gang into thinking he is with them, but rids Texas of them in the finale and gets the people in the Union. Elliott, usually billed as "Wild Bill"--a result of his long-time connection with the character of Wild Bill Hickock--played another historical figure in the same year in THE RETURN
