Uncle Lucca (Vittorio Gassman) is no angel. He drinks, seduces attractive women at the drop of a hat, and in no way can he be called a model citizen. Down on his luck, Lucca needs three million lire for an operation, so he persuades his nephew Ricardo (Giancarlo Giannini), a staid and sober businessman, to front him the cash.
