The Skull

This effective shocker features Cushing as a man drawn to the occult who buys a skull from Wymark, a strange man who deals in such unusual items. According to Wymark the skull was stolen from the grave of the Marquis de Sade. Cushing is warned by his friend Lee not to touch it, and Lee should know. He had once owned it, but it had been stolen from him. Cushing ends up obsessed by the skull, which hovers about, takes control of him, and makes him commit murder. The film is surprisingly good for a low-budget horror flick, boasting some intriguing photography and special effects.
