Calleia is a top London gangster who runs his black market operation from a Soho night club. He and his top henchman, Patrick, control underworld counterfeiting aand are involved in a smuggling operation as well. They conduct the business with ruthless zeal, killing anyone who interferes
with their plans. Landis (who died before the film's release) plays a newspaperwoman who investigates a murder and ends up exposing the gang. Calleia and Patrick give fine performances, though it's definitely stock characters they are playing. The direction is efficient but workmanlike, attempting
nothing out of the ordinary.
