Better-than-average programmer features former matinee idol Atwill in a powerful performance as a father taking the blame for a murder his son is charged with. The son has choked his lover and fled the scene, not realizing she was still alive. It turns out all right for Atwill but not
before a grueling courtroom sequence that nicely builds tension and results in a gripping finale. The film was based on a popular London play in which Atwill played the same role.
