Made nearly 20 years after THE SHAGGY DOG, this sequel is every bit as good as its predecessor. Dean Jones plays Wilby Daniels, a lawyer who comes across an ancient ring that changes him into a large sheep dog (the same fate that befell Tommy Kirk in the original). Wilby is running for
district attorney against John Slade (Keenan Wynn), a villainous sort who gets his comeuppance when he turns into a bulldog. Though at times the film relies a bit too much on slapstick humor, skilled director Robert Stevenson (working on his 19th Disney film) keeps the action from getting too out
of hand.
