Hutton and Allenby play two convicted safecrackers who are released to the custody of Naval Intelligence following the attack on Pearl Harbor so that they can steal top-secret Japanese documents stored in the Japanese embassy in Lisbon. Once in Lisbon, the pair discovers that the papers are worth $1 million. Once the documents have been obtained, Allenby tries to grab them for himself, but he is killed by Lisbon-contact Illing, who takes off with the material himself before being killed in a car crash himself. The Navy recovers the papers, but Hutton is captured by the Japanese and is held prisoner on a freighter. Eventually Hutton is rescued when the freighter is sunk. He then receives a presidential pardon for his crimes. leave a comment
