The Saint Takes Over

This entry in RKO's series had the first original story created for a SAINT film without using a Charteris novel as a source. The film works just as well as its predecessors, with Sanders once again helping out hapless police inspector Hale. The story involves a group of race track gamblers who've been framing Hale. Sanders comes in to help and stumbles across a few murders before wrapping up the case. Guilfoyle is a gang member who goes straight and helps Sanders, while Barrie returns to the series in a minor role as a mob hit-woman.
