Though the story is conventional, this silent boxing drama is enlivened by early examples of the directorial flourishes for which writer-director Alfred Hirchcock later became famous. Accompanied by his trainer (Gordon Harker), champion pugilist Bob Corby (Ian Hunter) pays a visit to a circus and falls for the girl (Lilian Hall Davis) manning the ticket window at the boxing booth. Jack Sander (Carl Brisser), the show's big attraction, takes on all comers and flattens them in a single round, hence his nickname, "One Round" Jack.
