Time Inc. used footage from their popular "March-Of-Time" newsreels intercut into a narrative structure using actors (most of them non-professionals from the town of New London, Connecticut) to illustrate how WW I affected the lives of a group of average Americans. With America's
inevitable participation in WW II just around the historical corner, the film attempts to remind the viewer of the lesson that should have been learned from WW I, namely, that preparedness should be taken seriously.
