A well-done, low-budget feature, the first from director Harold Becker. The film is an offbeat romance starring Rouse as a clever young thief who meets and subsequently falls in love with Tennant, the beautiful daughter of a rich rag dealer. Outstanding performances by the principals,
coupled with an insightful, literate script, make for compelling viewing.
