This is the first cinematic attempt by writer-director-actor Laughlin (of BILLY JACK fame); he plays a freshman at UCLA who has a speech impediment that goes away when he is in contact with girls. Rejected by a fraternity, he sparks a friendship with Quine, but is soon swept up by her
lustful roommate Monsour. The two sleep together and become engaged, but Laughlin drops her when he finds out that she's been sleeping around. Laughlin then finds that the sympathetic Quine is still willing to lend him her support. She also convinces him to go to a speech clinic for help.
