Army psychologist Leigh comes up with the idea of the "perfect furlough"--a scheme in which one of 105 army men stationed at her base would receive a three-week furlough designed to fit his desires. Meant to be a morale booster, the losers are expected to live vicariously off the
winner's experiences. Womanizer Curtis takes the honors and chooses a famous actress to accompany him to Paris, a trip on which Leigh acts as a chaperone. Before long Curtis and Leigh are walking down the aisle, a walk they also took in real life.
